Capo Vaticano is a widly spread coastal hamlet of the town of Ricadi (VV), full of accommodation equipped with entertainment facilities. The homonym promontory reaches the maximum height of 124 meters and is made of a special white-grey granite, studied throughout the world for its geological particularity. Of considerable importance is the presence of giant ferns and palma nana on the rock called Il Palombaro, "the Diver",  and the existence of marine sediments of Quaternary, which make Cape Vaticano a must for many Paleontology scholars. The morphology of the area, with valleys and deep river incisions in an area with a typical terrace with steps, allows easy access to the fossiliferous strata of Miocene era. The promontory of Capo Vaticano, situated on the Tyrrhenian sea on the coast of Gods in Calabria, facing Stromboli and the Aeolian Islands, separates the Gulf of St. Euphemia and that of Gioia Tauro, and includes the coast from the Bay of Tono to the Santa Maria bay, up to the latest offshoots of Mount Poro. Since 1870, the promontory hosts a lighthouse with a cylindrical tower built in a one-floor structure with a roof terrace. The most suggestive bay is Grotticelle, formed by three adjacent beaches. According to a French magazine, Capo Vaticano is considered the third most beautiful beach in Italy and among the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world
