The small center is located right on the Rio Arno River, at the foot of the relief of the Gran Sasso d'Italia, in the shelter of the limestone cliffs that delimit below the village of Prati di Tivo, a green morainic slope that rises towards the Small Horn and the Great Horn of the highest peak of the central Apennines.
The village is embellished and isolated on the hill overlooking the vast panorama of the Rio Arno valley, along the Teramano side of the Gran Sasso, and appears predominantly built and restored in local stone
